Oxford, MS, USA – September 10, 2026 – Spyder Moving and Storage, based in Oxford, Mississippi, has spent years supporting causes tied to the communities it serves. The company has donated to Move for Hunger, a organization that fights food waste and hunger through the moving industry. Ladygin says the goal is not size for its own sake. “We’re a moving company, not a foundation. But if we can send a truck somewhere and it helps more than it costs, that’s an easy decision.”
Why a mover picks these causes
Spyder Moving and Storage did not choose these organizations at random. Move for Hunger fits naturally with a company that already has trucks, drivers, and routes running most days of the week. Denver ties to the company’s footprint, since Ladygin lives there part of the year. Golf for Good supports young athletes, a cause Ladygin says connects to his own background in competitive sports.
“I played tennis for years before I got into moving,” Ladygin says. “I know what it costs a family to keep a kid in a sport. Anything that takes some of that weight off is worth supporting.”
Making it part of the business, not separate from it
Spyder Moving and Storage is structuring the commitment so it does not depend on a single good year. Ladygin says the plan is to set aside a portion of the company’s growth for these causes annually, rather than deciding case by case.
“It’s easier to keep a promise than to keep deciding whether to make one,” Ladygin says. “We’d rather build it into how we run the company.”
The company also plans to ask employees and drivers for input on which local groups to support next, particularly around pet shelters and other causes that come up in day-to-day conversations with customers.
“Our guys are in people’s homes and neighborhoods all day,” Ladygin says. “They hear about things we’d never find on our own. If a driver tells me about a shelter that needs help, that’s worth listening to.”
What customers can expect
Spyder Moving and Storage says the commitment will not change pricing or service for customers. The company plans to keep the giving separate from its moving and storage operations, funded through its own growth rather than added fees.
Ladygin says he wants the company’s reputation to rest on both its moving work and its giving, not one instead of the other.
“You can run a good business and still put money back into the community,” he says. “One doesn’t have to come at the cost of the other.”
Spyder Moving and Storage plans to share updates on its giving as new partnerships take shape, including any additional organizations added to the list over the coming year.
