The company’s evolution is shaped by firsthand dealership experience, tech expertise, and a database of more than 6 million vehicles.
CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — AutosToday is expanding beyond its consumer automotive marketplace, building a connected inventory intelligence platform that helps dealerships make smarter buying, pricing, and sourcing decisions.
The expansion has taken shape over several years. What began as an effort to connect vehicle owners directly with dealers has grown into AutosToday for Dealers, a platform that brings together inventory intelligence, vehicle appraisal, competitive market insights, and sourcing.
The company’s direction came from Founder and CEO Tony Gashi’s early experience as a car salesman and then a dealership owner. Gashi saw consumers struggling to understand what their cars were worth, leaving them vulnerable to unfair trade-in offers. Dealers, meanwhile, faced costly and inefficient ways to source inventory. He saw an opportunity to connect the two.
“What if we built something where consumers could list their cars and get an idea of how much they were worth?” Gashi said. He believed the platform could educate sellers, reduce reliance on auction middlemen, and create a better connection between consumers and dealers.
Gashi partnered with technology entrepreneur Wojo Wietecha to build the original platform, which enabled vehicle owners to list their cars and receive bids directly from dealers. This feature remains part of AutosToday for Dealers, though it now represents only one small part of a much broader set of solutions designed to make dealers’ day-to-day operations easier.
“Tony knew cars and I knew tech,” said Wietecha, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of AutosToday. “He had the industry knowledge and the idea. I had the keyboard and the skills to build the product. That was how everything started.”
The platform later expanded into the AutosToday marketplace. As its database grew to more than 6 million vehicles, the company built a detailed history of pricing, mileage, days on market and vehicle movement. This created new opportunities to develop tools around the challenges dealerships face every day.
“We had six million cars, and the question became, ‘What else can we do?’” Wietecha said. “Every product became a spin-off of what we had built previously.”
AutosToday for Dealers grew from that foundation, building tools for appraisal, competitive analysis and inventory intelligence. One problem was especially familiar to Gashi: vehicles were sitting unsold while floorplan costs and cash-flow pressure continued to rise.
“How can our data help those dealers before that first curtailment?” Gashi said. “Once a vehicle reaches 45 days, it becomes a warning sign. That’s when you know you need to act.”
The marketplace remains central to AutosToday for Dealers, providing the reach and market activity that power its dealer products. As the platform grows, the company continues to refine how that information can help dealerships identify problems earlier and make smarter, more confident decisions.
Dealerships can explore AutosToday for Dealers free for a limited time and experience its full range of solutions, including Dealer Lens, VIN Appraisal and more.
