Expansion adds Anatomage Table and Noelle Birthing Simulator to the Pre-Medical Science Diploma program, giving students college-grade clinical experience
HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Village School, a private PreK through 12 day and boarding school in West Houston’s Energy Corridor, celebrates its 60th anniversary this year with the opening of a new high school STEAM wing for the 2026-2027 school year. The expansion adds dedicated Biology and Chemistry laboratories, purpose-built art studios, and medical simulation technology that makes Village the only high school in Texas offering college-grade clinical and anatomical training to students on a pre-medical pathway.
Founded in 1966 serving a small primary school population, The Village School has grown into a community serving families from over 90 countries across six continents, ages 2 to 18. The new wing arrives as the school begins its seventh decade, giving the next generation of scientists, artists, and innovators the facilities to match their ambitions.
“When this school opened 60 years ago, it served 100 children in one building. Now, students from more than 90 countries walk these halls, and one belief has carried us from there to here: children rise to meet the expectations of the people who believe in them,” said Dr. Ryan Kelly, Head of School. “These laboratories and studios are a promise to our students and their families. As long as young people bring us their curiosity, we will keep building rooms worthy of it.”
The centerpiece of the new wing is a suite of clinical learning tools normally found in university medical programs. The Anatomage Table, a life-size 3D anatomy visualization system, lets students explore full-body, high-resolution anatomy, isolate individual systems, examine real clinical imaging, and perform virtual dissections with precision and safety. The Noelle Birthing Simulator, a clinical training manikin used in nursing programs, emergency medical services, and university health science centers, allows students to observe and simulate the full childbirth experience in a controlled setting.
With these tools, The Village School becomes the only Houston private school to pair an Anatomage Table and Noelle Birthing Simulator within a dedicated pre-medical diploma program. The technology transforms the school’s Pre-Medical Science Diploma from an advanced academic track into a true pre-professional pathway, where students practice the clinical reasoning and diagnostic thinking that mirror first-year college coursework. The benefits extend across the sciences as well.
The expansion strengthens the high school’s science and arts programs at every level. The new Biology and Chemistry laboratories support the sustained, lab-based coursework required by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the school’s specialty diploma tracks. On the ground floor, new arts spaces designed for experimentation and creative work include a kiln and a dedicated photo and film studio, giving students room to explore traditional and modern techniques in the visual arts. New outdoor canopies improve circulation between buildings and provide shade and rain cover during class transitions, lunch, and outdoor activities.
The 60th anniversary finds The Village School among the most decorated private schools in Texas. Highlights of the school’s record include:
• An A+ overall rating from Niche, which ranks Village among the top three private K-12 schools in Texas, the best boarding high school in Texas, and the most diverse private K-12 school in the state.
• A 100% graduation rate, with graduates earning admission to leading universities in the United States and around the world, often with significant scholarships.
• A rigorous college-preparatory curriculum featuring the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Advanced Placement courses, and four specialty diplomas in fields such as Pre-Medical Science, Entrepreneurship, and Computer Science.
• Signature learning experiences developed through Nord Anglia Education’s collaborations with MIT, The Juilliard School, and UNICEF, connecting Houston students to some of the world’s foremost institutions.
• Five-day and seven-day boarding programs on a 28-acre campus, welcoming students from across Texas and around the globe.
Since its founding, The Village School has been defined by the strength of its community. Students arrive from more than 90 countries and graduate as confident, globally minded leaders who have learned alongside peers from nearly every culture in the world. The anniversary year will feature celebrations throughout the 2026-2027 school year honoring alumni, families, and educators who have shaped the school across six decades.
