MedZed, a field-based provider of complex care management and wraparound social supports for the highest-risk, hardest-to-reach Medicaid members, announced today three additions to its senior leadership team as the company prepares for its next phase of growth.
The new leaders are:
- Greer Rios, Chief Operating Officer
- Cream Pepito, Chief Technology Officer
- Stacy Conti, Chief People Officer
The appointments reflect MedZed’s focus on operational excellence: staying close to what is happening in the field; removing roadblocks quickly; and using technology, data and stronger partnerships to help teams serve members and clients more effectively.
“The best organizations know how to move quickly and remove roadblocks when it matters most,” said Scott Schnell, Co-founder and CEO of MedZed. “For MedZed, operational excellence means using technology, better processes and stronger partnerships to reduce friction, give our teams more time to focus on members where they live, and help them act on the right information at the right time to improve outcomes.”
MedZed combines deep, boots-on-the-ground community engagement with the backing of an established, scaled organization. Over 12 years, the company has partnered with 22 health plans to serve the highest-risk, hardest-to-reach Medicaid members. MedZed is strengthening the operational, technology and people infrastructure needed to scale that model while deepening ties to the communities it serves.
MedZed also is investing in systems that simplify referrals and documentation, improve information flow, and give clients clearer visibility into outcomes. These investments come as health plans face growing pressure to manage costs, maintain member enrollment, meet quality requirements and navigate new administrative demands.
“Technology helps us work more efficiently so our people and partners can be more effective,” Schnell said. “The goal is to give our teams more time and better information to solve problems for members and deliver greater value to health plans.”
Strengthening Operations and Execution
As Chief Operating Officer, Rios oversees MedZed’s operational strategy and execution and builds the infrastructure needed to deliver consistent results as the company grows.
Rios brings more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience. Most recently, she led operations at MedArrive, where she scaled its provider network, supported client growth and served as Chief Operating Officer. She began her career as a social worker and is known for translating strategy into execution while remaining close to frontline teams.
“Greer understands that operating rigor begins with understanding how the work is actually done,” Schnell said. “She knows how to identify what is getting in the way and build the operational discipline needed to solve those problems at scale.”
Using Technology to Increase Frontline Effectiveness
As Chief Technology Officer, Pepito leads MedZed’s technology, product, and data strategies, focusing on systems that reduce administrative work, improve information flow, help frontline teams respond more effectively to members and demonstrate to health plans the value MedZed delivers.
Pepito brings technology leadership experience across healthcare, financial services and consumer technology, including roles at RubiconMD, Oak Street Health and Northwestern Mutual.
“Cream understands that technology is most valuable when it makes difficult work easier to do well,” Schnell said. “She and her team help us turn frontline insights into practical tools that surface the right information and enable our teams to act more quickly.”
Building the Organization for Sustainable Growth
As Chief People Officer, Conti leads organizational design, talent development, employee engagement, workforce planning and change management.
Conti most recently served as Chief People Officer of NeueHealth, where she helped guide the company through a number of business transitions. She previously held senior human resources roles at Magellan Health and Cigna.
“Operational excellence depends on people understanding what is expected, having the right tools and seeing how their work connects to the mission,” Schnell said. “Stacy has extensive experience building the leadership practices and workforce systems needed to support sustainable growth.”
Together, the new leaders will advance MedZed’s “See it. Solve it. Scale it.” framework — a disciplined approach to operational excellence that keeps the company close to what is happening in the field; removes barriers that limit execution; and builds the systems, tools and partnerships needed to scale with consistency and accountability.
