This finding comes in the wake of Talarico’s primary victory, which led to racial tensions following his win over Jasmine Crockett.
The survey data suggests that Crockett’s defeat in the primary is unlikely to significantly deter Black voters from participating in the general election. Only 7% of Black voters polled stated they are less likely to vote in November as a result of Crockett not advancing. Looking ahead to the general election, a substantial 79% of Black voters surveyed plan to cast their ballot for Talarico. In contrast, 12% of Black voters indicated they would vote for Ken Paxton.
